US President Donald Trump has urged Ukraine to elect a new president, saying Volodymyr Zelenskyy should broker a settlement with Russia to stop the fighting.
Trump also blamed Zelenskyy for climbing fuel costs in the United States, warning Kyiv to cease hitting Russian oil refineries he says are set to provide American fuel.
The statements came on 10 October 2026, the same day Britain's Prime Minister spoke separately by phone with Zelenskyy, according to the UK government.
